Our Vision

At Sweet Eden Bakeshop we are committed to spreading joy throughout our community. We are like cheerleaders, but better…we have baked goods.

We scratch bake everything in the shop using only the finest ingredients; no cake mixes here. We have a strong desire to make our desserts fresh and tasty without being overly sweet.

This bakery will allow our customers to take a moment and indulge in something beautiful and delicious.

Our Chef

My name is Kendra Eden and I am the owner of Sweet Eden Bakeshop. My love of baking began as a child growing up in Hanover, Maryland. I always admired the wonderful birthday cakes my mom would make for all of our birthday parties. My passion for sweets and art led me to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts at Johnson & Wales University. I also have an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Anne Arundel Community College.

I have over 21 years of professional experience working in large hotels as a Pastry Chef at Gaylord National Convention Center and Resort and as a Pastry Cook at Grand Hyatt DC.  After having my first child, I decided that I no longer wanted to commute to the Washington DC area and that I would pursue my dream of opening my own bakery.

The bakery humbly began in 2018 with me baking cakes from my home kitchen. At that time the business was called Kendra's Confections. By the time I got my business plan approved and got funding, the name evolved into Sweet Eden Bakeshop. 

 
In 2019 it became apparent that I should grow my neighborhood a little bigger. A huge thank you goes out to all of my friends and family for their undying support. I hope to continue to make you proud. You are the true MVP’s.
